On April 20, 2024, the Small Town Open Hearts Project introduced itself to the community with an event at the Asheboro Recreational Center. The program was produced through a Partnership with the First United Methodist Church of Asheboro’s First Youth Group. The night featured dance and theater pieces that supported LGBTQIA+ youth. The heart of the program was a fifteen minute commissioned dance called “Resonance.” “Resonance” was choreographed by Randolph County native and professional dancer, choreographer and sound designer, Brandon Lee Alley. The evening was the first of many events planned for the community in the future!
